Meet the "Team" at John Newmans hairdressing... John - Creative Director John has been in Hairdressing since 1972 and after qualifying attended the Vidal Sassoon Hairdressing Academy in London. John has worked hard in the industry and has built up an enviable reputation. He runs a friendly and efficient Salon and has a passion for hairdressing that has never diminished. John is well respected for his experience and expertise and also manages and trains the Staff whilst evolving the business to ensure he keeps the Salon at the forefront of the changing world of Hairdressing.In March 2006 John won Employer of the year for Northants and East Midlands. John's hobbies are rugby, music, photography and socialising. Shirley - Managing Partner and Nail Technician Shirley is married to John and has been in Hairdressing since 1998. After gaining her NVQ's Shirley attended the Vidal Sassoon Hairdressing Academy in London for an intensive course. Shirley has a real flair and enjoys all aspects of hairdressing and likes working with people Shirley is also a qualified Nail Technician who is available for manicures and gel nail extensions. Shirley's hobbies are going to the gym, music and reading. Tina - Assistant Manageress, Creative Stylist and Beauty Therapist Tina lives in Kettering with her partner Matt. Tina has been in Hairdressing since 1990 and has qualified to NVQ L3, she has also qualified as a Trainer and Assessor in Hairdressing. Her favourite type of hairdressing is hair up for weddings and special occasions and technical work such as fashion colouring. Tina Has recently started a degree in Hairdressing and Business Management at Derby University. Tina is popular and has an extensive clientele. She assists in the practical aspect of training the junior staff. Tina is also a qualified Beauty thereapist who is available for manicures, pedicures, gel nails and extensions, Waxing and eyelash and eyebrow tinting. Tina's hobbies are walking her three dogs, music and shopping. Darren - Senior Stylist Darren has been in Hairdressing since 2003 and has gained his City and Guilds in May 2005. In 2004 he was nominated for the UK Student of the Year award and in 2005 he won the Tresham Hairdressing Student of the year award, He's also been accepted as a State Registered hairdresser by the UK Hairdressing Council. Darren is an asset to the Team, he is young, enthusiastic and likes a challenge.In March 2006 Darren was a finalist in the East Midlands Achiever of the year Awards.Darren is a good people person and is popular with the clients. Darren's hobbies include American Football, music, cooking and looking after his son. Chloe - Stylist Chloe started working at John Newman Hairdressing in 2006. Chloe began her training in summer 2005, when she left school attending a full time college course. Chloe is friendly, enthusiastic and willing. Her hobbies are socialising, watching tv and listening to music, although Chloe's favourite thing to do is banger racing and stunt driving around kettering car park every night. Chloe also has an addiction to chocolate, and tesco's own teeth and lips. Sarah - Stylist Sarah joined us in April 2006. Sarah completed her A levels and decided to become a hairdresser. Sarah lives in Northampton with her boyfriend and dog. She is friendly and enthusiastic and enjoys all aspects of hairdressing. Sarahs hobbies include horse riding, swimming, going to the gym (sometimes), spending time with her family and socialising. She also loves kareoke and will soon be on x factor. Her secret hobby is chubby chasing. Rebecca A.K.A. Colsey - Second Year trainee hairdresser Colsey joined us in June 2007. She lives in Kettering with her mum and dad and 2 sisters and her dog "Pepsi". Colsey has wanted to be a hairdresser since she was little so this is a dream come true. According to Colsey her hobbies include her fiancee Ricky (sometimes), socialising with her friend and shopping, however her biggest hobby is eating sweets and chips all day every day. Becks - Second year trainee hairdresser Becks joined us in July 2007 She lives in Wellingborough at home with her mum and dad. Becks also has 2 brothers, a sister and recently became an auntie to baby Jay. As well as becoming a hairdresser, her hobbies include driving, shopping, dancing, watching tv and socialising and EATING MCDONALDS (at least one a day, she plans to move into mcdonalds soon) Ana - First year trainee hairdresser. Ana joined the team in October 2007 as a saturday help. She then became full time in July 2008. Anna joined us after finishing her GCSE's at Southfield Girls school. She lives in Loddington with her family. Anna is passionate about hairdressing and considers herself to be very creative. Her hobbies include socialising with her friends and helping out her mum (a working artist). Anna's ambition one day is to be just a little bit taller! (without wearing heels)
